I loathe to say that it cannot be by formula only as I am sure some one would know how. But from my limited knowledge, I think this all can be done via macro very easily.
Thanks rizvisa1, yes sorry should have said macro - yes agreed shouldn't be a hard one - I just don't know the answer :-)

come to think of it, you do not need any macro either. If you select that whole column and apply filter on that to show non blank, then copy it to the new location and paste special to skip blank values, you should get what you want
