Laptop Wont Start After Reboot

I did a update on laptop and it need to restart. I said ok and let it reboot. The laptop shut off and now when I hit the power button it just flashes. The laptop is a HP Pavillion dv6000. Help please Iam running Windows Vista

Hi there,

Remove battery and press power to drain remaining electricity and plug back and restart.

Did the trick I have seen several laptops with this problem what is the cause anyway
