MS Word on desktop, but now missing from progClosed

Question

I installed an icon for Word 2007 on my MS7 system.  The icon is now on the desktop, but the listing  is missing from the programs file in the start menu.  How do I get word re-listed in the programs file.?

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.6.3

Have you installed the office software or just sent a shortcut on desktop?Please provide related information.

In reply to your question, I have installed Office 2007.  After installing, I found the Office 2007 item on my Programs list and clicked and dragged the icon to my desktop.  It is there, and opens Word just fine.  But now there is no listing for Office, Word, Excel, etc in the installed programs section after the Start menu.
How do I get it back there and keep an icon on my desktop as well?  Thanks
