Lazy ass notebook

when i press the on button on my notebook the light stays lit for about 8 seconds the screen stays black and then proceeds to shut its self off i dont know what the heck happened to it i took it to a repair shop but they havent looked at it i dont know what to do if anyone can help me i ll really appreciate it.
