How to reset factory settings on computer

How do i get my internet to work? everything works except this.

Dear Sir,

You can actually carry out a system restore by getting to Start> All Programs> Accesories> System Tools and select system restore. Yet consider making a back up of your database.

when i do this does it will lose all my data on C?

Dear Sir,

If you do not make up a back up copy of your database, you will lose some of your database.
