CD Rom and DVD Roms

Why won't my dvd drive and my Toshiba drive play the disks I put them? They used to work.

A long time ago my computer told me that there was a problem with Windows Installer. Programs didn't download correctly. Now I can't even get anything to execute from the files on the disks I do put in them. The files show up when I open the drive but nothing just starts setup when I put the disk in.

Could Windows Installer have anything to do with my drives not opening?

I can't put up with this anymore..Please help.. It will be so appreciated!! Deana

HI there,

I can advise you to clean the lens and change the ide cable connecting mother board and cd drive,if no improvement save data to removable device and format it.
