How to stop an application in my phone?

when i connect my nokia 5130 to the computer, it won't work because there's still a running application in my phone. the problem is i can't connect my phone in my computer. how can i stop an updating library in my media player?

Dear Sir,

Please press the menu button for some time until you see the open applications and then select one by one and press C for closing them.
