IE 7 wont open.

Hi there. Im having trouble opening internet explorer on my pc. It is IE 7 and I am using Vista.

I do have an internet connection but when I open IE, it is telling me that "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". Then, if i type in a webpage it tells me that "the address is not valid".

I have tried restoring advanced settings and resetting internet explorer settings under advanced internet options, but this has not worked.

I unfortunately dont have Firefox or Chrome or anything like that and have no way of downloading them! So basically I am at my wits end trying to get IE to work and I would really appreciate any help that you could offer to help me fix this problem.
