Apple Command Key stopped working

Hi there my apple command key has stopped working - powerbook G4 - it means i can't use it as a shortcut to all sorts of things. Can anyone tell me how to fix?

Thanks. All of the other keys on keyboard working normally except the apple/command key. I have looked at the preference settings etc but nothing has altered. It's strange that both apple keys either side of the space bar have stopped working which makes me think it is not a hardware fault but a setting ...
