It could be a lot of things: a virus, a corrupted hard drive, a corrupted file, a malfunction hardware, etc...
First look at your BIOS and see if everything's okay. Just to check, load the default options if nothing seem to be wrong (adjust only things you really need to, like which hd will boot). If you use a specific video card, try to run with your motherboard standard one. If it doesn't work, try this:
Run chfdsk in a prompt to check the disk health. It'll fix any fails in it. If it doesn't work again, try to reinstall a clean copy of Vista, this may work. If don't, try replacing your hd by another without problem and then installing Vista in it. If there's still a problem, there might be some hardware error or malfunction. In this case, try look for an assistance so they provide you the necessary help.
