NO OPERATING SYSTEM FOUND

I turn my sony vaio desktop on, the only thing on the black screen is "operating system not found" ....I tried to start it in safe mode, it beeps loudly and the same thing comes up. What can I do to restore my computer?? HELP PLEASE
