Microphone stopped working

Hello,

I updated to Windows 7 a few months ago and everything has been working fine until yesterday. My microphone has stopped working. I've tried all the steps everyone has suggested and it still doesn't work. It looks like the microphone is enabled, it's not muted but still it's not working. Any suggestions?

Update your drivers in device manager or by using driver detective,get it here:

Hi, Thanks for your help. All my drivers are up to date. I have an HP DV2000. Everything seems to be working fine. The microphone is enabled and the default but it doesn't work on skype, or recording. I'm baffled.
