Removable disk drives dissapearing

My removable disk drives dissapear about every 24-48 hrs. If i reboot my computer everything comes back, but i really don't want to have to keep doing that. Also since i have a wireless mouse and keyboard i can't use my mouse because my usb ports also frezze up. After a reboot all is good. What is the cause of this????????????

Make a system restore to days back as some updates might have been wrongly been installed on system.
