Cleared virus but cannot access anything

i cleared a virus on my dell. Now i cannot open any of my icons/programs. I keep getting the "open with" question..even get the "open with message when I try to restore my system to a previous date. I cannot access the internet to even run a fix or a program. What can I do?

Dear Tmann,

It might be that the virus has been responsible for some missing or corrupted files and hence I will advise you to carry out a restore or repair to have the problem fixed.
