Laptop To Tv Closed

Question

I Have Been Trying To Plug My Windows Vista Laptop Into My Tv With Disasters Results, The Cord I Have Is Red, Blue & Green On One End With Vga On The Other. When I Plug It In The CVI Channel That Appears Only Shows Purple And Black Flashing Lines, Is This My Cord Or Is It A Setting On My Laptop That Needs Changing?

Check this way.I think you need to setup the display.So go to the control panel-display-settings-and choose number 2.
