Line to reflect a Dash if no value

I am designing a check book registry, and I want the total column to reflect a - if there is no value from the formula. I had it this way in the past, but somehow can not get it to be that way again. My current formula is =G1-F2+D2, so I think it would involve the "IF" funtion, but I need some help.

I think if you format the cell and choose "Accounting", it will do that for you

I figured it out!! Thanks for the help though it would be =IF(SUM(G1-F2+D2)=G1,0,SUM(G1-F2+D2)) ... just in case anyone needs help with it in the future.
