.exe files problem

Hi!
i have a problem in opening any .exe files. i have internet explorer and google chrome. The main problem is that when ever i open a file or download something its saying open with...
i am also not able to open the browsers as well. when i try to open, its asking me to open with...again..pls help me out

Please check whether you have the specific application installed on your system so that it gets to be opened.
