Files exe has changed

Hello,
this i reguarding a windows xp version. i enabled sounde forge as the primary progarm to open all my files by accident. now my files have lost thier exe to help them open and perform. what do i do

Please consider repairing your system in order to get the problem solved for there might be some missing or corrupt files causing it to act like this.
