Compaq presariov4000 ,screen wont turn on

Hello, i have a compq presario 4000 lap top ,my screen is blank as of today ,i tookk the battrey out and power cord ,held in the power button for 30 seck ,then put battrey back in and power cord,still nothing ,help please
