None of the browser sounds are working

all the media player sounds are working... and the game sounds too...

but none of the computer system sounds are working( startup, login, windows exit, shutdown etc..) and none of the browser sounds are workin.. in ie, firefox, chrome and opera.. :(

please help...!!

first go to run and type msconfig then see what type of startup you have select the things you want and uncheck that you dont want.I think this may be a problem.
