Vista freezes during tune-up

Hello,
I have a HP laptop that runs on Vista, and my anti-virus protection is OneCare. This just recently started happening but every time my PC runs an automatic tune-up, my computer either freezes or when I try opening a program it will not open to the point where I have to shut down my PC. The tune-up runs perfectly, but every time it reaches the same exact point it stops working.
