Hello,
My Dell Dimension 310 appears to boot, but the cordless keyboard and the corded mouse will not function unless I open the case and then boot, in which case all is fine. Any suggestions on how I can get it to boot complete with mouse and keyboard with the case closed?

Hi there,

Please provide more information, change the ports where you plug the mouse and keyboard, use a usb keyboard instead of the wireless and see the difference it makes,is the system hot while booting for which you are removing the casing?

Thanks

Thank you for your prompt response. Regarding your suggestions: I have already tried different ports for mouse connection and still have the problem. As for the keyboard, I have an old USB keyboard that will require locating an adapter to plug into my system, so can't try that yet. I feel no hot spots inside the cabinet and the fan is running.
