Installing sims 2

Hello,
i just bought the sims 2 apartment life expansin pack and the bos pops up and ask what language so i click on the language and then the other box pops up with the agreement think then i click yes but the then another box says that i need to install sims 2 to play

Dear Sir,

For installing the expansion pack, you should already have the game installed. Please indicate whether you have the game installed and that the expansion pack is for the specific game that you have installed.
