please check with the computer management
-click on start
-right click on my computer
-click on manage
-open the disc managerment options and check does the comp have any unalocated space or not
-one more thing dell sys have hidden hdd partition
-which is a backup partition of the os created by dell so that you can reformat the os without the os cd
------i'm sure you have fixed the issue with the above tips----

just try a disk defragmenting on that har drive
