Monitor only showing part of the screen.

Hello,
I have a problem with my display. When I start up certain games like Football Manager 2008 and Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, or even make pinball from windows full screen, it only shows a section of the image in the top left hand corner. It's really irritating as obviously I can't play the games...I don't know whether it's the case of the wrong driver (my friend recently completely reformatted this laptop installing all new drivers for me) or just the games playing up, but I think it's something to do with the drivers. The problem is, I know next to nothing about drivers, and how to fix or update them, so even if I knew I had the wrong driver, I wouldn't have a clue what to do!

I would be very grateful if someone would reply to this with the cause of the problem and preferably a solution, cause I want to get playing! Cheers in advance =)

go to www.nvidia.com and update the video and nforce drivers

I had same problem go into tools and in video section at the top of box hit drop down and select direct draw and next drop down select 1 and the third drop down select 3 and then under that select nearest neighbor and set res at 800x600 I said a short prayer and was given the solution.

I was using Ubernes emulator
