File sharing

Hello,
I've manage to connect two pc's and both on sharing. Now my collegue and I are unable to use the files at the same time. we both got XP pro service pack 3. We use microsoft access for one of the files. Is it possibel to use shortcut from your desktop to the sharing foder?

Please advise?

It's not possible for both of you to simultaneously share a file. You can't BOTH have the shared file open at the same time.

When one computer opens the file the other computer(s) are locked out of the file.
