Not clear what you are asking
you can use some thing like this
=sheet1!A1 to show a1 from sheet1 on some other sheet

I still am not sure what is meant by "getting whole column".
Lets say if col A consist of 10 rows of data, and you are thinking that on sheet2, you will write a formula on cell A1 and as the result of that formula, on sheet2, rows 1-10 will get populated, from top of my head, I dont see how can you do that.
If you are thinking to have on cell a1, a concatenated list from sheet1, then you would have to write a user defined function.
