My audio device wont work

Hello,

hi i have windows xp and after i formatted my whole laptop..my audio device sigma intel and everything wont work at alll. like i wud go on volume cotrol and it wud say they are no active mixer device availible pls go to addhardware and install..
i wud go there and add my audio hardware but then it woud say code 10 it wont work. den i uninstalled it and installed it but it still wont work
what the hell is happeiningg????
