1) by playing an audio file u can check it out
2) in control panel (classic view) -->speech-->preview speech
if u hear the sound then thats it you have the sound drivers installed
otherwise install the audio drivers from
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support_task.html
just select Download drivers and software and enter your product number
