Hard drive corruption

Hello,
recently i have installed windows 7 on my zenith laptop and later i tried to install windows xp i am getting an error message as
"to prevent damage to your computer your computer has been shut down. please check your harddrive for viruses,remove any newly installed harddrive or check hard drive controller.check your harddisk for errors or corruption. run chkdsk /f to check disk for errors.
technical information stop:(0x00000,00x0000003700,0x00000000)"
provide me a solution, i am not able to start my laptop.

Sounds like a configaration error. Do as the message says. To run chkdsk you need your installation disc or recovery disc and select repair. Only do this operation if you know what you are doing.
Did you make a partition when installing windows XP so you have windows7 and XP on the computer. Not a good idea
I would choose one or the other and do a reinstall
