Is the ipod able to use wifi from the ps3?

hello, i was just wondering. i have an ipod touch and my brother has a playstation3 as well as a psp. When he puts his psp on remote play using the ps3 i can see the wifi address on my ipod touch> its on the wifi connection list but its locked. I tried different passwords and asked him about it but it doesnt work. it keeps saying unable to connect so does this mean that the ipod touch isnt compatible for using the wifi from the ps3? is there a way around it?
