Hello,
I once encountered a problem like that before and all I did was to remove the dvd rom and after that the pc would start normally. Try to do this and if its still not good then I would recommend that you get an IT professional who will be able to help you out with your problem. As for the data that you have on your hard drive it is possible to get it even if the pc doesn't want to start up.
