Hello,
Our laptop will not start. My daughter was watching a Netflix movie and swears she did not download anything. Now when we turn on the computer we get a screen that has "Dell Media Direct" that comes up and then goes directly to a blue screen with white text that states:
'A problem has been detected with windows and has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer...
CONFIG_LIST_FAILED'

this message continues and tells us to go to Safe Mode but I've tried many ways to get there and we can not get past this message! It ends by saying
'Beginning dump of physical memory.
Physical memory dump complete.
Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance.'

Of course, our support contract is up so I'm looking for less expensive solutions! Anyone? Help!

Push the media direct button to boot up again (not the power button) from complete shut down state. It seems like once you press it it tries to boot into Media Direct mode every time.
