Hello,

Excel V. 2003.

First list contains Internal Account Numbers, Portfolio Names
Second list contains External Account numbers, Portfolios Names

What I need to do is somehow look up using the Portfolio names and then display the internal account numbers:

First list Example:
999999 SMITH AC
111111 MS C C LUCAS

Second List Example:
WM821884 SMITH ACCOUNT
WV848161 Lucas Carolyn Cecil

I have tried pulling out the individual/joint last names into a separate cell, however, the information in the sheet is mixed, i.e. it could be Mr A & Mrs B Smith or just Ms C Smith or Smith family Account.
I want to be able to look up SMITH ACCOUNT then pull 999999 on the spreadsheet, i.e. match off the internal and external numbers that can only be matched by name. Any assistance? Or Suggestions?
Thanks,
Kylie

Hard to see how the columns are divided in your example. Could you please upload a sample file with sample data etc on some shared site like https://authentification.site , http://wikisend.com/ ,https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?passive=1209600&continue=https://docs.google.com/&followup=https://docs.google.com/&emr=1 http://www.editgrid.com etc and post back here the link to allow better understanding of how it is now and how you foresee. Based on the sample book, could you re-explain your problem too
