Hello, I bought a used laptop... how do i change computers ip address? I dont care for the association w/ previous owner what ever that maybe (:IE there was alot of pornography sites visited )I am a respectable family oriented, well respected my community! In process of guardianship paperwork ect. and alot of process is ahead mental evaluations alot of investigating my profile.
is there any hope for this laptop to wipe its slate clean , or am i going to jeapordize my public persona w/ this laptops ip history showing up at my address? iI would not pass up a bargain, but is the profile reverseable ? i appologize for the story / crisis !!!!!

click on start-->run--> type ncpa.cpl
Network connections window will be opened.
then right click on the local area connection icon ---> properties-->then if you scroll down you can find the "Internet protocol [TCP/IP]"-->double click on it or select that option and click on properties-->there you can change the ip address if its static.
