Hello,

No audio device after installing microsoft windows sp3.

system details

Microsoft windows XP
Professional
Version 2002
Service Pack 3

Computer :
Intel (R)
pentium (R) 4CPU. 2.8 GHz
2.79 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM

When I go to device manager in the system properties, under 'sound, video and game controllers', the Realtek AC'97 is with an yellow icon.
When i double click on that, it shows that ' this device cannot start. (code 10). Click the troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device'. But the troubleshoot is not enabled. I am not able to figure out this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

To be sure you installed the right driver for it, try opening the computer case and look for the sound chip on the motherboard, write down the model and then go to realtek site and download the RIGHT drivers for it.
Hope it works.
