Hi !
Maybe conficker ?
Even if it can be prevent by installing an anti-virus BEFORE you get that virus, once you get it, it :
- goes on the local network
- goes on mobile devices (usb sticks, memory cards...)
- instead of creating a process, it makes a windows-service, so you can't see it in the process monitor
- it turns of the windows security center ; all anti-virus ; all updates systems (windows update too)
- it kills all processes that sounds like an antivirus.
- it configures your firewall too deny access to online anti-virus
- it destroys all restore-points
- and it can updating him by himself.
- ...
The biggest clouds conputing network is not Google's (500 000 computers) or Amazon's (160 000) but is conficker's (6 000 000 infected computers).

Maybe by going under GNU/Linux, so Confiker can't load and you can run a antivirus-scan (under Linux).
(Yes, Confiker is only a virus for Windows).
