Dell XPS 1530 screen goes white...

Hello,


Hi I am using DELL XPS laptop.but suddenly my system screen goes blank it looks like switched off...when i again restarted it a white screen comes with having black color bar on it....i want to look out for solution...

but if i try to switchon laptop after some time it again on normally..but after 5 min working the lid again goes offf...
is there something heating up laptop.
please help me out....

I believe it's the GPU as you can't connect to an external monitor. Thankfully, Dell extended the warranty on the XPS M1530 by 3 years (for models with the 8600GT) It's time to call Dell and let them handle the situation from here.
