Video problem with HDMI

ive got a samsung R530 laptop and a toshiba hdtv ive plugged my hdmi cable into both devices and do not get picture i only get sound HELP please

Please consider getting through the following steps and if it doesn't work, please check whether the display cable is not damaged.
