You can certainly upgrade your ram.
Take your first 256 memory stick and put it in the second slot, then if you insert a 1gb memory stick in the first slot, you will have 1.256 gb memory which in my point of you is very nice.
As for the antivirus, please consult our Kioskea faq for it is a matter of taste. No antivirus is perfect.
