DVD drive won't read installation diskClosed

Question

I have an installation disk for some graphics programs, they read and install fine on my laptop but my desktop dvd player is reading them as blank. My desktop dvd player will read dvds with music or data but not these installation disks, can't figure it out. Any help is appreciated.

Please confirm whether the installation cd is not scratched causing the specific problem.

did you have any luck by now? Have kind of the same problem and found out lots of people out there as well. My installation disks are read as blank ones and won't read. I  use a mac book pro with OS X 10.5.8! Any help out there??? Thank you...
