Problem in downloaded file

Hello,

i was down loaded one file and when i opened it,s showing open not run.please advise me.

You said you downloaded a file. Was this a document file which needs MS word or Adobe to view? Is it downloaded in a Zipped file which may need to be unzipped to extract files? Or was it a downloaded software?

Did you save it somewhere on your system then it asked "open"?

Need a little more details or the answer is in what I have posted.

it was a downloaded software only. i can't run that prograame. bcoz it was showing open only.not run. please look this matter.
