when i insert fallout 3 disk after installing i get an error msg saying the disk is not present, what do i do?

Dear Mike, 

Please consider checking whether the CD is not scratched or still make sure that its is a genuine copy. Also check whether your IDE settings have well been set.

Is the disk clean and in good shape if so it might be your disk drive try a difernt one if possible
