Hello,
I was using my HP Pavilion laptop when I closed it to put it in sleep mode by closing the cover. When I opened the cover, it took me to he DVD player mode. I pressed the power butto to get out of it and then it crashed. I tried to restart but it kept taking me to the page giving me options to restart in safe mode or start normally etc. None of the options worked although I tried all of them.

Please help. I'm a totally non-technical person. My PC is running Windows XP. I'm now using my netbook to surf.

Help!

Thanks.

Hi Jaunglia, I don't have my recovery CD or XP installation CD. I've just moved countries and they are in a box en route to me in India. I have 2 questions:

1) Assuming I had the CDs, will reinstalling all this wipe out alll the info on my hard disk?
2) In the absence of these CDs, what else can I do?

Thanks.
