Restoring system

Hello,
How do I restore my desktop without discs? Tried restoring to a prior date, then after running for 20 minutes it really crapped out. Now it gives me 3 choices for a fix. None of which have worked. I just end up back where I started.

Model No. VGN NR430E
Searched on line for a retailer & found "PCRecovery Shop" which wants $65.00 for discs. No returns. They list a VGN NR400E. Are they reputable? Are these discs compatible?
