Connecting laptop to SamsungLEDtv via HDMI

Hello..i have a problem connecting my AcerASpire Laptop 4810TG to my Samsung Series 6 LED TV..When i connect my laptop to the Tv thru HDMI cable, the tv displays "Check signal cable'...when i asked the samsung help forum, the told me that my laptop's driver must be updated to detect the Tv which is new and runs on a up-to-date driver...Can anyone help me plse?...i reli want to play games on a large screen tv..
