Hi,
Do you have any viruses you know of and can you receive mail from gmail?
AV Security Suite, Earth AV, or something like that?
Also, do you have an unregistered version of AVG?

Probably why gmail is still working is because its cached. If you cleared you cache it would not show up anymore but give you an error BUT this is only if your accessing it from your web browser, if you have a mail client like thunderbird or windows mail It would not show it as off it really is. As for your internet, you should re-install your operating system or get an ethernet card: http://www.google.com/productsclient=safari&rls=en&q=ethernet%20card&oe=UTF8&um=1&ie=UTF8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wf
What the virus has done is break your drivers and put them in an unrepairable state. A reinstall would fix this, also a eathernet card would also fix it. Hope it gets fixed!
