My brand new DDR 1GB wont work in my computer

Hello,
I have an Emachine model W3118 with the basic parts, I've recently purchased a 1gb ram stick (ddr same as my computer) but when I insert it, it just makes a beep sound and doesn't respond or come on why is that?

Greetings,

Please check to see if you need DDR, DDR1, DDR 2 or DDR 3.

The stick with the largest amount of Ram should always go into the first slot.

Did you insure before installing to avoid static? Try removing and reinstalling.

If your checks are okay, your memory stick should be returned to where you purchased it for exchange.

Hi there,

You either have the slot damaged or the frequency of the new memory stick is not same as old one on board,have the frequency and other related information with memory by using cpuZ a small free application available on link below:
