Monitor goes black after startup?

Hello,

Ok i followed steps to press f8 and I did and press enable VGA mode and I did and it staarts up and it's a reallllly low res. So when I go to set it higher the monitor goes blank again. Oh and I have 3 monitor ports and none of them work.

Is it a desktop or laptop?you need to provide complete information on issue then it will be possible to suggest steps to be done,
