User profile

I have the same exact problem as the user below. I can't log on and it says there is a problem with the user profile. Please don't insult our intelligence by asking if I entered my password or entered it correctly. It just won't let it log on. I've seen several identical problems on these forums, dating in the past month.

I start up my computer and it loads fine but when i go to log in it says "the user profile service service failed to logon. user profile cannot be loaded". It's the admin profile and has all my pictures etc. on. I am using a windows vista, packard bell laptop. If you could help i would be very greatfull.
